MJR Events organised the 3rd Bump & Beyond Baby and Toddler Fair on Sunday 30th April 2017. This year the fair was bigger than ever as it moved to The Norfolk Showground Arena. It is Norfolk’s largest Bump, Baby and Toddler Fair, with everything from pregnancy to pre-school.
The Bump & Beyond Baby and Toddler Fair is all about the wonderful journey that is having a baby and watching them grow into a small person. That journey opens our eyes to many joyful and sometimes nervous moments that all combine to become the experience of being a parent.
What you don’t get told is the endless list of accessories, clothes, food, creams, toys, shoes, buggies, walkers, medicines, nappies, clubs, activities and even more toys that are required.
The Bump & Beyond Baby and Toddler Fair is here to showcase quality suppliers of all of the above and many more, including clubs and charities that are on hand to make that journey slightly easier.
Our Chosen Charity
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) supports families and cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. Our family centred approach includes specialist nursing care, symptom management support, short breaks, wellbeing activities, therapies and counselling; all meeting the individual needs of the child, young person and whole family.
Due to restricted facilities and high demand in Norfolk, we have launched a fundraising appeal to deliver even better children’s hospice care services. This includes a new purpose-built hospice, called the nook.
The nook appeal will transform children’s palliative care in Norfolk, including a new hospice in the heart of the county. The new site will replace our current hospice in Quidenham, a building not designed or equipped in the way our other two hospices are. Given its age and design we can’t develop the building more than we already have. Accessibility is really limited, as is flexibility, and there just isn’t the scope to expand. It’s on two floors with narrow doorways and corridors and just a single small lift to allow wheelchair access upstairs. We believe families in Norfolk need to receive the very best services in an accessible purpose-built environment.
EACH currently provides specialist care and support for 351 children and young people with an additional 417 family members receiving face-to-face therapeutic support. With high demand in Norfolk we are caring for 131 children and young people and 215 family members. The nook will allow us to do this while offering greater choice in a much improved, significantly larger, and more appropriate environment. This will positively impact on care delivered both in the hospice and in the community throughout Norfolk.
We have planning permission for a new hospice in a fantastic 5-acre woodland setting; 5 miles south of Norwich. It will be nearer the centre of the county, much closer to local services, hospitals and road networks. It also means the majority of families and staff will travel shorter distances to receive and deliver care. Once built it will transform our care to meet the changing needs of children and help us meet the increasing demand for our services.
